Am I right in thinking Obama can’t do an acceptance speech until Romney makes the call to concede?
Pretty much. I mean, he could, but it’s considered bad form. Traditionally, the concession speech always comes first.
In 2000, if my memory isn’t failing me, there was no concession or victory speech on election night; both candidates spoke, but neither conceded or fully claimed victory (though they said that they were “confident” that they would win, of course).
I’m thinking that Obama will speak maybe a half an hour after Romney. That’s just a guess, though.
