Q:Hi hon! How are you? How are things? Is your eye any better? How is life treating the ol' Kennster?

oswald-ears

Funny you should ask, I was just starting a post on my eye. I’ll tell you instead since you asked, and let other people read it.

Well, firstly, I’m more or less OK. It’s been a stressful couple of days, but it’s calming down as I get rid of the people who have been causing me stress. I’m kind of paranoid about everyone I follow on twitter after seeing how many of them applaud hate, so it’s a slow process to go through everyone I follow to see if I want to keep them around (I started all this following over 1,800 people on twitter from my main account, I’m down to about 1,660 so far).

Fortunately, it’s that kind of stress where I feel good about my actions; it’s just dealing with the fallout from it that’s been rougher than expected. Oh well.

On to the good news…when I woke up this evening, my eye was wet. Like really wet. In the past couple days, the lump on my eyelid felt smaller, but looked the same in the mirror than it did before. When I went to wash my face this time, though, the eye;id is a bit puffy, but the lump is WAY smaller. I think the clog that caused the chalazion (a build-up of oil that normally gets secreted into tears) finally unclogged!

So my eye’s been watering a LOT today as it drains. The vision is still a little blurry, but hopefully that will correct as the oil finishes draining and my eye gets back to normal.

It’s nice to think that I can get to being the handsome (well, average-looking) person I was before I had this thing on my eyelid. And I don’t have to ask suizdejinn, who drew my current avi, if he’d be willing to add a lump to it.

Anyway, thanks for asking. I’m woefully behind on tumblr and catching up (I’m up to posts from 14 hours ago now), so I’m going to be working on seeing what I missed during the day. In the meantime, I’ve left a little something in your ask box! Forgive me if you’ve already talked about it and I just haven’t seen it yet.

sailorgallifrey replied to your post: WHY ARE YOU SUCH A QUALITY TUMBLR BLOGGER? (Also I hope your eye gets better, I forgot to say that earlier. D: )

I’m lucky, we got internet when I was in middle school. I have no idea how people did schoolwork before internet. I mean, how did you procrastinate writing papers until the night before with no 24 hour google available? It’s a mystery to me.

Let’s just say that we got really good at BS-ing our way through. Fortunately, teachers didn’t have the internet either. =)

Because I have no life? Kidding, of course (sort of).

Thank you, Dee! I have a feeling you’re talking about the Carousel of Progress and Disneyland Railroad posts I just put on the Disney Files blog…I just have a borderline unhealthy obsession with the Disney parks (more Disneyland than Walt Disney World, but still both to an extent) and have studied them WAY too much. When I worked at Disneyland, it wasn’t that odd for someone to call me on the radio to meet up with them to answer guest questions that they didn’t know the answer to. In short, I’m a nerd (and I’m OK with that).

I don’t even remember how long ago I read that article about the Morse code being wrong at Disneyland, and it took me a good half hour to find it tonight when I wanted to mention it (it was easy to find mentions of the guy correcting it, but finding his actual article about it was tough).

Honestly, after a lot of my posts I have quite a few tabs to close (I think I was up to 19 tabs open at one point while I wrote the CoP reply because I didn’t want to get my facts wrong). It’s just a subject that is very close to my heart, and I love spreading the knowledge around.

Would you believe I was mostly a C student? Researching Disney, which I really enjoy, is a heck of a lot more fun than researching something I just can’t get into, like the The Franco-Prussian War. Well, it probably didn’t help that we didn’t have the internet back in those days, either (I graduated high school in 1992).

Anyway, thanks for the compliment (and your well-wishes towards my eye)!

Q:Too much time, or the EXACT AMOUNT OF TIME NEEDED? Methinks the latter.

You know, you may have a point there! =)
