Pretty much. When I go to bed in the morning, I bookmark the post where I’m leaving off at (thank you missing e), then when I log in at night I go to the bookmarked post.

Missing e then guesses and puts me on “page 50” of my dash, and I scroll to the bottom where it says “loading more posts.” From there, I scroll up through the ten posts on that page, then click to go to the next-earlier page. That way I’m still reading them in the order that they were posted, but not having to spend an hour and a half scrolling down and making my computer cry with all the gifs loading at once.

And when I load the next page of more recent posts, I see if the little “new” icon is there on my tracked tags, or if there’s anything in my inbox.

Until a couple months ago, I would just scroll all the way down and then slowly work my way back up through every single post, so I wouldn’t see messages/tags for hours, but now, unless I get sidetracked with writing a long post, it’s generally pretty quick for me to see that I’ve been tagged in something.
