Delta Dreamflight — filmed (according to the youtube page) in 1989.
From Dave Smith’s Disney Trivia from the Vault:
The attraction opened as If You Had Wings, sponsored by Eastern Airlines (1972-87). When Delta took over as the sponsor, they changed the title to If You Could Fly for nineteen months while they designed a new attraction. That new attraction was Delta Dreamflight, opening 1989. When Delta discontinued sponsorship in 1996, they attraction was renamed Take Flight until it was removed in 1998 so Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin could take its place.
This was seriously one of my favorite attractions as a kid, tied with the PeopleMover for my favorite thing in Tomorrowland, though I was always a bit confused on how airplanes could apparently time travel. While I miss it intensely, I think Space Ranger Spin definitely fits the current Tomorrowland much better.
I never got to experience this (my first trip to Walt Disney World wasn’t until the year 2000), but I couldn’t help thinking that the music was really familiar from 1:20 to 2:00.
It took me a while to figure out that it sounds like John Mayer lifted part of the music for the intro to his song “Friends, Lovers, or Nothing” off his Battle Studies album.
