In response to hearing that the NCAA punishment against Penn State for covering up Jery Sandusky’s sexual abuse of kids will be handed down at 9am EST Monday morning (after they tore down the Joe Paterno statue in hopes of lightening the punishment, as openly admitted), a Penn State trustee (speaking on condition of anonymity…you know Penn State doesn’t like to reveal things) said to an ESPN reporter:
"Emmert has been given full reign by the pansy presidents (at other universities) to make his own decision"
Since he’s a trustee of a major university, I can only assume that he knew the definition of the word that he used:
I don’t think he was calling them flowers.
Just in case anyone thought that Penn State was a wonderful institution, and that its dark days were behind them…a trustee essentially called other university presidents “faggots” for wanting to punish them for covering up sexual abuse for 14 years.
So they tore down the statue to show the NCAA that they’ve changed, then this guy shows that nothing has changed at all.
The only down side to the punishment handed down in the morning will be that it will punish the students more than it will the people actually responsible. But a message needs to be sent. And I hope these comments by the trustee end up making the punishment worse.
