In case any of you were interested after I posted David’s handiwork with my face last night:
If there is a lesson to be learned here, it’s don’t start a collaborative art project while simultaneously moving house. If I were to use the ‘spinning plates’ metaphor here, the sound of smashing crockery would be deafening.
However, as you may recall (or, indeed, look at the post below this one), last month I asked for volunteers to submit images of themselves that I could then turn into two avatars; one vector graphic, the other hand-drawn line.
Finally (finally!) they are now ready for viewing. I’ve set up a dedicated page on this tumblr here so the results (for better or worse) can be seen (there’s also a link in the side-bar).As for the reason for the delays (y’know, the whole moving house thing), I think I may have already tweeted that at some point in the process the prospect of sleeping in a ditch starts to seem attractive, rather than go through the numerous (and very expensive) legal hoops.
The sad thing is we’re only halfway through the process. Hopefully, if things go well, it will all be over by mid-July. However, in the meantime, the wife & myself will probably be without broadband (and, incidentally, a roof to call our own) for two or three weeks. So things might go very quiet around here. However, once things have got settled (probably in August), I’ll be making my main portfolio site live, and throwing open the gates for new Avarations. If you’d like two brand-spanking new avatars for the price of none, then email me your image (link is on the Avarations page) and I’ll put you in the queue.
