An open letter to twitter: I’d like to thank the person who wrote this tweet, as well as those who starred and/or retweeted it, for making my decision about where to start unfollowing people on twitter easy. First, I don’t do violence. Second, most bigots are too cowardly to say so in real life anyway; they need the anonymity of the internet to say what they really think (case in point: the Walken4GOP guy that this all started with uses a photo he stole from this site - he wouldn’t have the guts to talk like he does under his real picture). Staying quiet isn’t an option. Maybe you’re content with the way things are in this world, but I’m not. I’m not going to change the way I tweet. I’m going to continue to stand up when my friends are attacked. If you don’t like it, you’re free to unfollow me. It’s going to be a slow process to try and vet everyone I follow to see who stays and who goes, but those who share Kevin’s view of “just shut up and accept it” are gone right off the bat. I don’t need your hatred in my timeline. I hope you enjoy his continued brilliant tweets about getting drunk and pretending that he’s banging strippers. They’re obviously WAY more important to you than doing what’s right and standing up for what you believe in. But thanks, again, to those pictured above for showing your true colors. [EDIT] - People seem to think that I’m accusing Kevin of racism. I’m not. However, if you support him calling me and people like me who speak out against racism “internet pussies,” I know where I stand with you. Also, I’ve updated the image above with the latest stats.
