Don’t be fooled. The grand majority of workers at low-wage jobs are NOT teenagers, and 1 out of 4 have a family to support.

Deaf people watching the Nelson Mandela memorial were bemused and shocked by a “fake” sign language interpreter on stage whose gestures were unintelligible, activists said Wednesday.
Of all the places to try and fake your way through it, choosing an event that the entire world is watching is not a wise decision.
Hey guys, my friend is in a contest that’s pretty huge and winning would also mean that our school gets money. This is pretty big for him so I’d really really appreciate it if you’d vote! It’s really simple and fast and if you have multiple accounts somewhere it’s even better. Help me help him and I’ll do something for you!
Today’s the last day for voting! Help my friend’s school get some much-needed funding!
Urgent. Please help us!
That there is my baby Dean. And he has a small problem…
He likes to pee. On absolutely everything. The couch and My dad’s girlfriend’s stuff, and random spots in my room and in the storage closet and-
I don’t understand why and I don’t know what to do. My dad’s girlfriend insists he’s not sick (Though I don’t trust her, she hates him) and they have decided that if I don’t do something, they’ll kick him out of the house. (Not donate him or sell him, literally throw him out into the harsh winter.)
I know little to nothing about cats, so PLEASE help us.
People renting apartments in the United States are facing the highest financial burden they have ever faced as a result of the economic recession, driving more people out of the housing market and into rentals, according to a new report from the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies (JCHS).
Half of all renters, about 20.6 million people, are spending more than 30 percent of their income on rent. A quarter, 11.3 million, are spending more than 50 percent of their income on rent, forcing them to spend less on food, transportation, entertainment and retirement savings.
“It has never been this bad, we are at record levels,” Chris Herbert, research director at JCHS, told Al Jazeera. “It puts low income people in a real bind. If you don’t have a lot of income to begin with and half of it is going to housing, you don’t have a lot of money left over for anything else.”

Why’s it have to be this way
Why do people always go to Bambi’s mom for the “most heartbreaking” Disney moment?
I could be totally wrong, but I think it’s a generational thing.
For the older generations, it was probably their first experience with absolute heartbreak in a “kids” movie (even though we all know that Disney movies aren’t just for kids). And of course it’s the example they use with their kids about how a Disney movie can break your heart, and some of their kids absorb it as their “go-to” answer.
I didn’t see Bambi until later in life, so I’d had my heart broken by Oliver & Company and Pete’s Dragon and The Lion King (and others — I’m a big softy) before Bambi did it.
As a result, while Bambi does remain high on my list, to me the top award goes to Toy Story 3.
I absolutely bawled. Not as much as when I saw Schindler’s List or anything, but yeah…I bawled.
