When people like Cliven Bundy assert the primacy of the past it is important that we do not recount it selectively. American enslavement is the destruction of the black body for profit. That is the past that Cliven Bundy believes “the Negro” to have been better off in. He is, regrettably, not alone.
"I’m not surprised," Taylor told the station. "I’ve been discriminated against for 70 years, and they might as well discriminate against me in death as well as life."
This is fucking depressing, but I have to admit I love that line…
whenever i see these post-apocalyptic films set in the USA where everyone is pretty much just killing each other with no mention of other nations i always just assume that the rest of the world is fine and has learnt how to resume life as normal
I should fall asleep with my iPod on shuffle more often.
The last part of my dreams before I woke up was set to this music.
I don’t remember all of it — I remember being in Manhattan Beach, where I saw Ed O’Neill walking his dog in a grass median of the mall parking lot. Then I passed by some film/TV show that was being filmed in one of the stores, after which the lady who was the cashier in the scene (a real-life former co-worker of mine) came out to say hi, and we put on sweatshirts and danced. The dancing is a pretty good clue that it was a dream, because even my subconscious knows that I can’t dance.
Then Michael Jackson joined us, but people were chasing after him. When one got too close (I remember calling out “He’s got a hat!” when trying to point him out to other people who were close enough to stop him), the cashier-lady and I both got fired by Michael — but he gave us his autograph on a sticker before sending us on our way.
It was a pretty smooth way to be fired.
They were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.
Cliven Bundy not only a hypocrite but a racist, why am I not surprised? (via frompawntoqueen)
Color me SHOCKED that the conservative hero is a racist scumbag.
Bundy is stealing from the government in violation of the law and multiple court orders, yet he badmouths people who legally get help through social programs.
Bundy doesn’t recognize the U.S. government “as even existing,” yet he carries an American flag.
No wonder Republicans like him so much. He’s got that right-wing hypocrisy down to a science.
Hey, remember when that guy called me racist against whites for not supporting Bundy? Those were good times.
One of the area managers for Food at Universal when I was there found me on LinkedIn. He was one of the higher-ups who I actually enjoyed working with, so when he sent me a message of “come visit us sometime,” I decided that he deserved a more thorough explanation of the circumstances of me leaving the park.
Kind of curious to how he’s going to react to knowing how close I was to jumping off an 80-foot parking structure (part of the park is on top of it) and instead deciding to hand in my ID and walk out. I have a strong feeling that the actual circumstances of my departure aren’t well-known among those that were there.
Coming up on around 26 hours awake.
I’m not tired, but there’s no way I want to do another 48 straight. Not twice in a row.
Time to sleeping-pill myself into unconsciousness.
The worst thing about musicals is not being able to choose who you want to sing along with.
Do I sing along with Gabe or his dad?
Do I sing Roger or Mark?
Am I a Raoul or a Phantom today?
IT IS EITHER VALJEAN OR JAVERT
ELPHIE OR GLINDA
Henry Hill or Marian Paroo

EVERY FUCKING NOPE KNOWN TO MAN
THATS HORRIFYING AND AWESOME
It doesn’t look apart — it looks pretty darned connected. “A part,” if you will.
